The American Top Team
The American Top Team is a mixed martial arts team with members from the Brazilian Top Team. Although there is no formal affiliation, Dan Lambert founded the team and brought on some members from the Brazilian Top Team. As a result, the American Top Team has a unique style of mixed martial arts. Read on to learn about the team members.
Dan Lambert
Former NHL player Daniel Lambert is an assistant coach of the Nashville Predators. He played 29 games in the National Hockey League for the Quebec Nordiques. In addition to his role as an assistant coach, Lambert has played on two Olympic teams, and is an expert in the sport of ice hockey. His expertise in the game has made him an invaluable asset to the Nashville Predators.
While not a professional wrestler himself, Lambert has a long history of supporting combat sports. His association with Colby Covington was instrumental in his rise to stardom. He has dabbled in the professional wrestling world, and has a reputation as a manager. In addition to being a passionate pro wrestling fan, Lambert also has a knack for gab.
Ricardo Liborio
Ricardo Liborio is a Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt who has studied under Grand Master Carlson Gracie. He has been training since the age of six and is considered to be one of the best grapplers in the world. Ricardo Liborio trains at the prestigious Gracie Academy in Atlanta, Georgia.
According to a source, Liborio has decided to leave the American Top Team. He says that he left the team “approximately three months ago.” The reason for his decision to leave the team is that he moved to Orlando because of his daughter’s health issue. Liborio declined to elaborate on the situation.
Pitbull coaches
Pitbull has been training with the American Top Team in Florida for about a year, and he recently transitioned into a coach position. He focuses on developing young fighters, and he’s not shy about sharing his knowledge with others. This new role will help him be a better combatant.
Pitbull is a former UFC fighter and now a bare knuckle boxing coach. He has trained at the ATT since he was a youth and is now helping the next generation of ATT fighters break into the top division. He also oversees the BJJ program at ATT. He’s also a BJJ black belt and holds multiple titles in the sport.
Steve Mocco
Mocco has worked with some of the most talented athletes of the UFC and MMA worlds. He has trained wrestlers and MMA stars, including Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva. His skills as a wrestler earned him a spot on the American Top Team and he has been an important part of American wrestling history. As a young man, Mocco was a standout in high school and continued competing internationally, winning two Pan American championships. After college, he focused on mixed martial arts, and later collaborated with the American Top Team.
Mocco was a two-time NCAA Champion and four-time finalist. His accomplishments earned him the Dan Hodge Award, given to the nation’s top collegiate wrestler. The American Top Team is excited to have Steve Mocco on board and knows he’ll bring a tremendous amount of experience to the team. The team also hopes that Mocco’s experience and work ethic will be a valuable asset in recruiting top level wrestlers.
Marcus DaMatta
American Top Team is home to a number of world-class fighters. Among them is multiple-time world champion Marcus DaMatta. He earned his black belt from Carlson Gracie in 1997 and has since won several BJJ titles. He currently oversees ATT’s BJJ program and teaches Jiu Jitsu classes to pro fighters.
The American Top Team has been around for over 20 years and has produced several world-class athletes and top-tier coaches. Founded by Dan Lambert, ATT has become one of the premier MMA gyms in the world. Under the leadership of Conan Silveira, a Carlson Gracie black belt, the American Top Team has produced numerous elite MMA fighters.
