    Missouri City is a city in the state of Texas. It is a part of the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan area and lies mostly in Fort Bend County. However, it also includes a small portion of Harris County. The city’s population is estimated at 74,259 in the 2020 census. In 2010, it was 67,358.

    Historic Freedom Tree Park

    The Freedom Tree is a historical landmark in Missouri City. It sits along Misty Hollow Drive between Lake Olympia and Glenn Lakes boulevards on the former Palmer Plantation site. Interstate 610 and US 90A cut through the city, and US 59, a toll road that crosses Fort Bend County, crosses just north of the city.

    The Freedom Tree is listed on the National Register of Historic Trees. It is a symbol of freedom, and the city celebrates the historic tree with a Juneteenth celebration. It is said that the tree was given to the original founding families of Missouri City as seedlings. The city’s arborist has told historians that it will eventually die.

    Several parks

Many Missourians have religious affiliations that are not listed on the city’s official religion chart, but their presence is still significant.

    Many scholars consider parts of Missouri to be an evangelical epicenter. In Springfield, for example, the Assemblies of God, the nation’s second largest Pentecostal denomination, has its headquarters. Early twentieth-century revival meetings were common in the region. The city’s religious diversity also includes other groups, such as the Islamic Center of Springfield and Temple Israel.
